Software-Defined Simulation

Orolia Defense & Security’s BroadSim was developed to simplify the creation of advanced jamming and spoofing scenarios with Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) testing in mind. BroadSim supports high dynamics, jamming, spoofing, and encrypted military codes. Powered by Orolia’s Skydel GNSS simulator engine, BroadSim is able to simultaneously simulate multiple constellations including: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, and QZSS. With high-performing hardware, a robust and innovative software engine, and an intuitive user interface; BroadSim outperforms and exceeds features offered by the competition.

Say So Long to FPGAs

BroadSim is revolutionizing the GNSS industry because of its extraordinary flexibility, low cost, upgradability, and rapid development cycles. Leveraging the Skydel navigation engine and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), simulation of GNSS signals can be achieved at a fraction the cost of today’s industry standards. The ability to generate military and multi-constellation signals on COTS hardware maximizes scalability, value, and time to market.

Applications

Field Testing

Field testing GPS receivers to determine their performance and vulnerabilities in degraded or competing environments is standard practice. BroadSim excels due to its integrated GPS receiver allowing for built-in live sky sync, 4 independent RF outputs, and wide dynamic range with up to 0dBm transmit power.

NAVWAR (Navigation Warfare)

BroadSim is your go-to solution for NAVWAR testing because of how easy it is to use and configure multiple vehicles. Orolia has carefully designed the simulator such that users can easily create true signals using 2 RF outputs and spoofed signals using the other 2 RF outputs. BroadSim’s GUI is intuitive and designed to meet the demands of NAVWAR testing. Seamlessly transition the system into a multi-vehicle simulator through software to rigorously test the performance and vulnerability of your GNSS system.

MNSA M-Code

BroadSim is the first software-defined GNSS simulator on the market to obtain security approval for MNSA (Modernized Navstar Security Algorithm). MNSA M-Code is being rolled out as a required standard across many defense platforms. Engineers and system integrators must consider this in their testing cycles. Orolia Defense & Security is shipping BroadSim MNSA today, having streamlined previously tedious processes and is available with expert support to guide customers every step of the way.

Advanced Jamming

Add ground and space-based emitters to your scenario, generate an unlimited number of jamming signals on 1 RF output, and simulate flight profiles where interference power levels at the UUT dynamically change depending on the scenario motion.

Flex Power

Automatically adjust the signal power of any code type for the satellites in your scenario, no upgrade required. Learn More →

Ultra Low Latency

Experience limit-defying real-time performance with an ultra-low latency of 5ms. Learn More →

Advanced Spoofing

Simulate multiple spoofers simultaneously. Each spoofer can generate any GNSS signal and has an independent trajectory and antenna pattern. Signal dynamics between each spoofer and receiver antenna are automatically determined so no time is wasted.
